Earlier this month, our union called for the directive to be extended in a letter to TSA Administrator Pekoske and AFA President Sara Nelson testified on the issue before the Senate Subcommittee Subcommittee on Aviation Safety, Operations, and Innovation.

Since the first vaccines were approved, we’ve been advocating for Flight Attendants to be included with other essential workers in priority groups.

Delta management has always kept our hourly pay on par with the pay scales at the unionized airlines, United and American, in an effort to keep us from unionizing. While top line compensation like hourly pay may look the same or even a little better, there are hidden costs and missed compensation for us at Delta.

Earlier this week, eight people -- six of whom were Asian women -- were killed in the Atlanta shootings at three spas. The incident has shaken many in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, including Flight Attendants.

Delta’s executive “adjustment” payments may be legal, but they’re just one more reminder that management isn’t looking out for us—they’re looking out for themselves.
