Two Senators called out Delta Management
Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey from Massachusetts penned a letter to Delta CEO Ed Bastian urging management to remain neutral in our union campaign.
“All workers deserve the right to join a union freely, and Delta must not obstruct that right for their Flight Attendants.”
They didn’t stop there. In listing the ways Delta management has union busted over the year, they also called out management’s Don’t Risk It, Don’t Sign It campaign:
“The company also previously had a dedicated online portal to oppose union organizing, which framed signing a union authorization card as a risk for Flight Attendants.”
This isn’t the first time Members of Congress have urged Delta to remain neutral in our organizing. Over the last two years, over 170 Members of Congress and 25 Senators have called on Delta management to follow the Railway Labor Act and stay neutral in our organizing. Despite the repeated letters, Delta management still hasn’t replied or committed to respecting our right to organize under the RLA.
We’re grateful for Senators Warren’s and Markey’s support as we organize to secure our union – but we won’t hold our breath waiting for management to respond. We know our rights and will continue to organize for our union.
