Holding Pay

It’s happened to all of us: you board only to find out the aircraft has an issue that needs to be resolved or an ATC hold. While Delta Flight Attendants get holding pay, we have no say in our rates which lag behind United AFA — and without a Contract, management can take holding pay away at the drop of a hat. Without our union, Delta management is holding us back on holding pay.

Here’s an example of how holding pay plays out at different airlines:

Flight 1847 was scheduled to depart at 8:25am. Passengers are boarding but there’s an issue with the reverse thruster. At 11:05am, maintenance resolves the issue and we push back. In this scenario, you would be paid:
