Flight Attendant Files Legal Complaint on Sexual Harassment and Retaliation
Over the weekend, it was reported that a Flight Attendant filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington alleging sexual harassment and retaliation for exercising his rights under the Railway Labor Act.
It appears Delta management terminated an employee who reported sexual harassment instead of holding the alleged perpetrator accountable. Flight Attendants shouldn’t have to be afraid to go to work and face sexual harassment. Delta management must address this!
The complaint also details the systematic efforts by management to attempt to coerce and interfere with workers’ free right to join a union. This demonstrates that publicly advocating for union representation provides certain protections under the RLA that otherwise don’t exist as an at will employee.
We encourage Flight Attendants to demonstrate public support for your rights at work. Together we can help ensure health, safety, and security for all of aviation’s first responders at Delta.
We remind all Flight Attendants that AFA EAP is available as a confidential support. Dial 800-424-2406 to reach a trained AFA EAP professional.
