Delta Flight Attendants Welcome Career Union Member Tom Brady to Delta Air Lines
Atlanta (September 6, 2023) — Following the news that Tom Brady has signed a contract to partner with Delta Air Lines, Flight Attendants organizing their union with Delta AFA Flight Attendants released the following statement:
“Delta AFA welcomes an enthusiastic union member, son of a union flight attendant and former football player Tom Brady to Delta Air Lines. On the field, Mr. Brady ensured player voice was represented in decisions that affected the team. Off the field, Mr. Brady was an active member of his union who understood the importance of player solidarity in achieving workplace safety, earning a fair share of the value created by their labor, and enforcing a clear grievance procedure to ensure due process on the job. He also understands the importance of having a strong contract to guarantee those benefits and protections—something we’re working to secure for ourselves. Nobody knows teamwork better than a union member! Welcome, Tom.”
Mr. Brady signed a multi-year contract to serve as a strategic advisor “to develop and advise on strategic training and teamwork tools for the airline’s more than 90,000 employees” according to Delta’s media release announcing the partnership. "Growing up with a mother as a flight attendant, I have always admired the people that make seamless air transportation possible," stated Brady.
“We’re especially excited for Tom to join our team because he has a personal connection to Flight Attendants,” Delta AFA Flight Attendants continued. “We can’t wait to work with him.”
