Tell Ed: We Need A Minimum Guarantee
Delta Flight Attendants fought hard to help Delta Air Lines secure the necessary relief money through the CARES Act. This money is critical to us as frontline workers to stay on the job and connected to our healthcare.
This money is allocated specifically to ensure that Flight Attendants continue to receive a paycheck, but at Delta we don't have a guaranteed number of hours each month. Our competitors have told their Flight Attendants that they will be paid the minimum 71 hour line guarantee and 75 or 78 hours reserve guarantee, per their contracts.
The law is clear, recipients of the payroll grants may NOT reduce pay rates through September 30, 2020. Therefore, employees who were full time prior to the passage of the CARES Act must continue to receive full time (minimum monthly hours) hours through September 30, 2020.
Ed, we need the stability of a minimum hours guarantee every month as we navigate this unpredictable period together.
