Mr. Jorgensen, Mr. Murtha, Mr. Walsh, and Mr. Walsh,
We write to you as the national representative body of Delta Flight Attendants organizing for our union of over 28,000 Flight Attendants at Delta Air Lines.
Our union campaign stands in solidarity with our labor siblings at UNITE-HERE Local 26, who voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike and are currently carrying out their third round of strikes. Workers at Omni Parker House, the longest continuously operating hotel in the country, had never gone on strike before yesterday. We are proud to be in solidarity with them.
We had planned to hold a campaign gathering in Boston on October 1, but have canceled the gathering in light of current labor disputes at your hotels. We will not give our business to hotels who refuse to bargain in good faith with your workers and who refuse to meet the basic needs of your workforce. We will move our business to other hotels until you have resolved this dispute to the satisfaction of our allied unions. We will not be using your hotels while you undermine Boston workers. We do not cross picket lines.
We ask you to resolve this dispute promptly, and with respect for the working people of the city. These workers deserve a fair contract.
Sincerely,
The Delta AFA Steering Committee
